Weather Red Alert on a recent visit

Arrived in France and it was dark. The train - Le Shuttle exited into France and I could barely tell the difference. The Sun had been setting in England. 35 minutes previously

As we travelled we could hear warnings on the radio about the weather . We were able to understand enough, words like vent (wind) violent, Orange (weather waning and various cities and towns we knew of in the area. It was relatively dry where we were. However a few miles later it was pouring with rain. We then passed through heavy showers.

Later we could see bright stars in the sky. Quite a contrast. An hour later much more rain.

Red Alert For Weather

In Norther France. Where we were this week alerts were coming over the mobile phone with advice

We walked down the hill and had a look at the local river which was flowing fast and a bit higher than usual

We managed to get to the shops for some supplies.

We listened to France Bleu Nord Radio and France Bleu Picardie for local news and announcements

Good journey back to England despite Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle being reduced to one train an hour.

Arrivé en France et il faisait nuit. Le train - Le Shuttle est sorti en France et je pouvais à peine faire la différence. Le soleil s'était couché en Angleterre. 35 minutes auparavant

Pendant notre voyage, nous pouvions entendre des avertissements à la radio concernant la météo. Nous avons pu comprendre suffisamment des mots comme vent (vent) violent, Orange (temps décroissant et diverses villes et villages que nous connaissions dans la région. Il faisait relativement sec là où nous étions. Cependant, quelques kilomètres plus tard, il pleuvait à verse. Nous avons ensuite traversé de fortes averses.

Plus tard, nous avons pu voir des étoiles brillantes dans le ciel. Tout un contraste. Une heure plus tard, encore de la pluie.

Alerte rouge pour la météo

Dans le nord de la France. Là où nous étions cette semaine, des alertes arrivaient sur le téléphone portable avec des conseils

Nous avons descendu la colline et avons jeté un coup d'œil à la rivière locale qui coulait vite et un peu plus haut que d'habitude.

Nous avons réussi à nous rendre dans les magasins pour nous ravitailler.

Nous avons écouté France Bleu Nord Radio et France Bleu Picardie pour les actualités et annonces locales

Bon voyage de retour en Angleterre malgré la réduction d'Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle à un train par heure.
